Packing Party a Blessing!

Today, members of the team got together in the Wesley Social Room to pack all the medicines, clothes (dresses for girls made by the church), pants for boys, small toys, games, backpacks, medical supplies for Dr. John and so much more! We have 20 suitcases--at about 50 pounds each--for the children's home! Praise the Lord! To save space many of the team members are sharing one suitcase, thus we can take MORE to the kids in Rwanda.

Brother Paul and Sister Leslie gave us a briefing on safety, checkpoints, and the realities of traveling to and in a third-world country. Food will not be abundant, which for some of us is a good thing!

We're excited, blessed, and anticipating a week from today when we will be on our way!

God is GREAT!

READY to GO!!!!

Welcome friends and family of the Wesley Rwanda Mission Team! We are one week away from our trip and the excitement is huge! We depart on March 1, 2008 and head to Philadelphia. On Sunday, March 2, 2008, at 6:00AM we depart from Philadelphia and fly to Washington-Dulles. From Dulles we board Ethiopian Airlines for a flight to Rome. After a change of planes in Rome, we continue on Ethiopian Airlines for a flight to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. After a change of planes in Addis, we continue on Ethiopian Airlines direct to Kigali, Rwanda. WHEW!!

From Kigali, our Sister-in-service, Leslie Hafner tells us it's about a 90 minute ride south to the
Urukundo Home for Children. We expect to arrive at Urukundo around noon on Monday, March 3, 2008.

God is GREAT....ALL THE TIME!

As Jesus shows us in John 13:1-20, His followers are to serve one another. Members of this mission team believe we have been called to serve the children of Urukundo, to leave our lives behind, if only for 16 days, and let the hand of God lead us to Rwanda, and do whatever He would have us do. We are much like the "little children" Jesus mentions in John 13:31-35, yet His words are on our heart, " A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Please pray for our team and return to this BLOG regularly for updates and pictures. Lord willing, I'll be posting information everyday while we are in HIS service in Rwanda.

God Bless you and our Team!
